Giving Shelter
Let’s help women break free from abuse.
Fondation Pharmaprix pour la santé des femmesTM believes that all women should have access to the care and support they need to be healthy and safe. But with more than 2 in 5 women experiencing some form of intimate partner violence in their lifetime*, many women in Canada are suffering. Violence against women has a direct and negative impact on the health of women and their families.
Our annual fall Giving Shelter campaign runs from September 6 to October 3, 2025 and unites all stores in a fundraising effort to support over 300 local women’s shelters and programs across Canada. Fondation Pharmaprix pour la santé des femmesTM covers all administrative expenses of the program so that 100% of all donations made in-store and online go directly to our charity partners.
Why Donate?
Your donation can help save lives. Every dollar counts in helping women seeking refuge from unsafe environments.
- $20 helps provide a women access to essential personal care items
- $50 helps provide a women access to counselling and support services
- $100 helps move a woman and their children to safety
Give today and help more women find safety and hope. Fondation Pharmaprix pour la santé des femmesTM issues tax receipts for online donations of $20 or more.

Pad it Forward
Taking action to address menstrual equity
With a staggering 3 in 4 women aged 18-24 feeling compelled to conceal their periods in school and workplace environments*, we recognize the pressing need for menstrual resources in Canada.
La Fondation Pharmaprix pour la santé des femmesMC is proud to be partnering with women’s shelters and food banks for our Pad it Forward campaign, an initiative to address period poverty by providing women in your local community with access to essential menstrual health products.
From May 23 to June 19, 2026, donate period products in store** at your local Pharmaprix by placing them in the Pad It Forward bin near the front cash.
We are also working to increase access to menstrual products and care for all women across Canada through local partnerships with The Journey Neighbourhood Centre Brampton, Alberta Council of Women’s Shelters, BC Society of Transition Houses, Spruce Grove Public Library and more.
We’ve built a partnership with Moon Time Connections (MTC), a national Indigenous-led period equity group that strives to increase access to menstrual products and provide menstrual education. Since 2017, MTC has shipped over 4 million menstrual products to Indigenous menstruators from coast to coast to coast. We’re donating $500,000 over two years to accelerate outreach and education programs in northern and remote communities.
La Fondation Pharmaprix pour la santé des femmesMC will continue to expand our network of partners in an effort to make care more equitable and accessible so that all women in Canada can lead healthier lives.

No One Forgotten
On February 14, 2025, Shoppers Foundation for Women’s HealthTM announced a $10M donation agreement with the Manitoba Government to fund critical programs that will directly benefit children and families of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit Peoples (MMIWG2S+). The donation will go to the Manitoba Government’s new MMIWG2S+ Healing and Empowerment Fund, an endowment held by the Winnipeg Foundation which will provide continual and accessible healing programs and support to affected families.
The purpose of the MMIWG2S+ Healing and Empowerment Fund is to support activities that extend tangible, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed support to children, families, and communities of missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, Two-Spirit and gender-diverse individuals. The revenue generated will ensure a stable long-term commitment to help meet the needs and support families for years to come. Indigenous women are 4x more likely than non-Indigenous women to be victims of violence.***
About the artist:
Vincent Design is an Indigenous-led design and marketing studio based in Winnipeg. It partners with Indigenous organizations and community leaders to create brands and digital experiences rooted in respect, relationships, and purpose. Their work is grounded in listening, collaboration, and translating story into design with cultural integrity.
That approach guided the identity for the MMIWG2S+ Healing & Empowerment Fund. The logo features a red dress formed from flowing ribbons — a symbol of remembrance, resilience, and collective action. The red dress honours the lives of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit peoples while calling attention to ongoing violence faced by Indigenous communities.
Ribbons carry deep cultural meaning in Indigenous regalia and ceremony, representing honour, protection, and connection across generations. The upward curls symbolize empowerment and reclaimed voice, while the overlapping ribbons reflect healing through community and working together toward a common goal. Together, the logo becomes a symbol of strength, cultural pride, and hope.
